--Heartsong: A Mosaic of Women's Poetry, Spoken Word & Song (Lawrence) -- 6:30pm-9pm. This marks the 7th annual global event for 100 Thousand Poets for Change, a grassroots organization that brings communities together to call for environmental, social, and political change within the framework of peace and sustainability. An event that began primarily with poet organizers, 100 Thousand Poets for Change has grown into an interdisciplinary coalition with year round events which includes musicians, dancers, mimes, painters and photographers from around the world. --Touch A Truck (Lawrence) -- 10am-1pm. Lawrence First Church of the Nazarene, 1470 N. 1000 Road. Come see more than 20 different vehicles on display. Free Kids Zone will include bounce house, face painting, balloon artist, kids games, lawnmower train rides and more. Don't miss out on the annual Cruise-N-Kansas Car Show at the event as well. --The S Word (Lawrence) -- 6:30pm. Kansas Union, Woodruff Auditorium. The Douglas County Suicide Prevention Coalition presents The S Word. --SIDS and Infant Loss Walk (Topeka) -- 10am-12pm. Hayden High School, 401 Gage Blvd. Come walk the Hayden High School track with us. Family friendly event with a bounce house, kids activities, face painting and a memorial balloon release. Donations and proceeds go to Boston Children's Hospital to fund SIDS research and to support families in Topeka who have experienced the loss of an infant. Shopping, drinks and h'orderves will begin at 6pm, the Fashion Show, highlighting downtown stores, begins at 7pm and will be followed by more shopping, drinks and h'orderves until 9pm. Topeka Public Library, 1515 SW 10th Ave. Komen Kansas and Midwest Cancer Alliance are 'calling up' breast cancer survivors for a FREE Pink Platoon wellness 'boot camp'. The program includes lunch and offers tips on boosting energy, updates on after-effects, workshops on brain fog, and more. Survivors can 'enlist' for Pink Platoon with one family member. Chang will take guests inside her work as an anchor and reporter in the fast-paced world of network television for the 2017 Journalism and Politics Lecture. Free and open to the public.
